We’ve been contacted by Katherine from Dometic, a leisure industry supplier, who have offered our readers 10 retro and vintage styled cool bags to win in their competition in partnership with Inspired Camping.
To have a chance of grabbing this giveaway simply pop over and Like their Facebook page while writing on their wall ‘I’m an inspired camper’ before Sunday 16th September.
The bag is 28 litres in volume and runs on 12v, so is great to keep in the car for daily shopping or a trip to the beach. It also fastens to a shopping trolley with velcro tabs and has an adjustable strap ideal for camping and shopping in style.
However, as well as the great coolbag giveaway we also chatted to her about a little secret they’ve been keeping about the kind of gear and deals you can now expect to find in their Facebook feed ready for your next camping trip. Well it looks like the secret’s finally out and now you can get your hands on some pretty cool camping and glamping accessories at rock bottom prices! Here’s what Katherine from Dometic has to say…
[hr]If I were to say the word Dometic to you, would you know what it meant? Maybe WAECO? Perhaps a few more would recognize it. How about Electrolux? Ah, bingo! So what’s the secret connection?
Well, to cut a long story short, Dometic was born after Electrolux decided to concentrate more on white goods for the home while Dometic made fridges for caravans. And then they made them for motorhomes … and boats, and cars, trucks, vans, horseboxes, hotels…. and then not just fridges. Their range quietly increased, so much so that it would be impossible to name everything here, but the list does include the kitchen sink and basically anything you need to make your leisure vehicle, or camping/glamping experience well, a bit more leisurely.
Camping can be anything from a mass polar expedition, a home-from-home experience in a huge RV with a huge TV, walk-in freezer and a loft conversion or a mini adventure in the garden. There’ll be something made by Dometic that can be included in all of the above. After all, a little bit of home comfort whilst in harmony with nature is nothing to be ashamed of hence why glamping has become so popular. Dometic’s philosophy is: My Freedom – Inspired by Comfort. The company makes gadgets you had no idea you needed, but once you have one you simply don’t know how you did without it!
Check out the following examples:
The Dometic Origo – A safe alcohol heater / cooker that is suitable for indoors and out.
The Dometic Cramer Trekki – A portable grill with one burner that disappears neatly into a compact aluminium case after use.
PowerCare – No spillage in your rucksack or cupboard in a pre-measured capsule. No mess, friendly to the environment, efficient and winter-proof for the hardy camper!
The PerfectCoffee MC08 – Makes up to 8 cups and can be desk or wall mounted.
The RC2200 – An elegant aluminium coolbox for the ultimate glamp. Runs on gas and electric.
So why are Dometic not well-known if they are the world’s market leader in the leisure industry? Most probably because you couldn’t actually buy directly from them, well, at least not in this country. Try Down-Under and it’s a different story, but that is probably helped by the ‘one-man-to-one-campervan’ ratio over there!
In the UK there’s a dealer near you who’s already in on the secret. Similar to Santa’s little helpers, Dometic are beavering away letting others take the credit and the glory. Now you can find out where to buy their products and search for a dealer.
Dometic have recently decided to have a bit of a clear out and grab some of the limelight at the same time. They have products that are brand new, but discontinued or ex-grade. Some of them are positively retro but all are going cheap on Ebay. So if you don’t want to miss out on these brilliant deals visit Facebook to look for updates and offers.
Click Like on the page and write ‘I’m an inspired camper’ on the wall and you’ll be entered into a competition to win one of 10 funky, retro-inspired Coolbag. You’ll also get the latest gossip and information about new products as well as links to Ebay for bargains on discontinued stock, straight from the manufacturer in our Summer Clear Out Sale that still has hundreds of items to be listed. There are also international stories of interest and the shows we will be attending.
You’d better get a move on though as the secrets out and the competition closes on Sunday 16th September 2012… so visit Facebook now so you don’t miss out!
