Glamping America: In Cabins, Treehouses, Trailers And Under Canvas

glamping america

Glamping America. It’s the luxurious way to camp for the camping enthusiast and a happy medium if you love to camp but your significant other or family doesn’t. If you’re not yet familiar with the term it’s basically a portmanteau of “glamorous” and “camping” combined. Interestingly enough, although it’s an international activity that is practiced all over the world, in America, it’s still a bit of a new trend; one that is catching on, thanks in part to reality television (it was once featured on The Real Housewives of Orange County). Now there are even conferences teaching people how to set up their own glamping businesses.

Katy’s Lazy Meadow

This is for the urban camper in the sense that it’s a mixed glamping site located along the Esopous Creek in New York and has a bit of a throwback 50s décor inside of each cabin (it was actually designed by Kate Pierson of the B52s). Inside, there are bright colours, vintage décor and private bathrooms. Outside, there are festivals year-round and fishing and floating too. And what if you happen to live on the other coast? No problem. There’s a Katy’s Lazy Desert in California as well. (Pretty cool, right?)
