These are the show notes of episode #014 of the podcast ‘The Business of Glamping and Unique Holiday Rentals’ with Sarah Riley from Inspired Camping and Inspired Courses.
This episode is a little bit different. This is my story and how I ended up doing what I do now in the unique hospitality and glamping industry.
This one is personal, raw and unedited so forgive me that I get a bit tearful at one point. I also get a bit geeky and woo, woo so you will have to forgive me for that too. You know it’s really interesting that after the 2008 recession when many people lost their jobs, lots of them took up a new vocation and suddenly found that they were finally following their dream.
Lots of them are highly successful professionals so it seems a shame that hard times and trauma were the things that rocked them out of their mediocre life.
I am someone who – for one reason or another – had dreams of doing something different, to live passionately and to make my life worthwhile.
Yes there’s been hardship and I can definitely say that following this path has been no bed or roses. No easy journey. But it is a journey nevertheless and something I have raved about here on Inspired Camping for years.
In fact, I’m going to read you a bit of the Inspired Camping Mantra…
Be excited about the open road ahead but wander from it often. Don’t be afraid to get lost – you may find yourself. Share your dreams with passion to inspire others. Smell the campfire and respect nature. Pause. Switch off. reflect. For a time become truly happy.
